Kimora Lee Simmons is the president and Creative Director of Phat Fashions along with her line KLs, An American fashion model,and author.Kimora became the Ceo of Phat fashions in September of 2007 when her ex-husband Russell Simmons stepped down. Kimora has a 2007 reality television show that airs on Style called Kimora Lee Simmons: Life in the Fab lane. The show focuses on her life as a mother,wife and Ceo of Phat Fashions. Kimora has been from model to television star to Ceo to mother. kimora has apppeared in music videos with Ginuwine and Usher. She also was a guest judge on America's Next Top Model the first season. Kimora is a very respectable and hero to young women and girls. She juggles her life, career and kids. She's a mogul, model an ofcourse best of all a mom.
Kimora was born Kimora Lee Perkins to Joanne Perkins and Vernon Whitlock on May 3, 1975. Kimora was born and rasied in St.louis, Missouri. Her Mother is japenese and father is African American. Her mother Joanna Perkins was born in Korea. . Joanne mother married a U.S serviceman, which caused them to fled to Korea and Joanne to come to America. Joanne never married Kimora's father. She worked as a district manager for social security administration and raised Kimora in the lower-middle class of St.Louis. Kimora's father, is a native of St.Louis. He spent threee years in prison on drug trafficing charges while Kimora waws in grade school. He was previously away from his daughter but, despite that he did attend her wedding.
As a child growing up wasn't easy for Kimora. She was the main target of school yard bullying and teasing. Kimora ws five feetten inches by the time she was ten. Kimora was bullyed because her her height and mixed ancestry. Her mom thought of enrolling her in amodeling class when she was eleven to help her overcome. About two years later, Kimora attended a model search organized by Kay Mitchell. There Kimora was discovered by a representative for seminal Paris agency named Marie-Christine Kollock. After that they sent her to Paris. She was awarded an exclusive modeling contract ith Chanel. Just after her thirteenth birthday, Kimora went to work under the tutelage of fame Chanel designer, Karl Lagerfeld. Karl Lagerfeld closed his haute couture show with Kimora. She strutted down the runway decked out as a child bride. Due to this Kimora quickly gained attention in the fashion world. The next two seasons, while still working with Karl, she seveloped her taste for expensive luxury items. At the age of fifteen Kimora had spent part of her small fortune on such purchases as designer bags, a rolex watch and a BMW cobnvertible. Kimora's friend and Chanel roommate Tyra Banks is now a known fashion model. No matter how busy they get they always keep in contact. Just because Kimora was a child model, she kept education first. She is a graduate from LutheranHigh School North in St.louis, Missouri.

He had became obsessed with the six foot tall model after seeing her on the runway during New York City's Fashion week. He had sent flowers to the young model. A bouquet so big it took two men to carry it. she was very much impressed. Best friend Tyra Banks, whoh had also recieved flowers from Russell intially warned her to forget him. He was self prfessed and well known as as a womanizer and playboy. Russell Simmons was once a New York City hustler, he had risen to the heigth of fame and fortune as the godfather of hip hop move ment. Russel Simmons found the Def Jam record label in 1984, which released the work of influential artists and grouos. Naming a few, Run Dmc, LL Cool J, Slick Rick, Public Enemy, and the Beatsie Boys. In 1991 HBO's Def Jam Comedy Hour became a forum for black comdians. Naming a few Martin Lawrence, Chris Rock, Jamie Foxx, Steve Harvey, And Bernie Mac. In 1992, Russell created a successful men's clothing line featuring hip fashions for the urban male. Ingorning Tyra's advice, Kimora followed what she thought was right. Russell's roaming ways shook the relationship, which was and on and off for several years. When Kimora retreated to Milian, Russell took up yoga and reformed his life style straight-and-narrow. He eventually convinced Kinora's mom to give him Kimora's number in Italy. When Kimora got back with Russell,she moved into his Beverly Hills home and attended classes at UCL. Their relationship was solid, so they decided to get married. In 1998, Kimora married Russell Simmons. They married on a Carribbean island of St. Bart. Vowed before a gathering of entertainment, music and fashion elites to stay together for richer or richer. The wedding ceremony was performed by Russell Simmons brother, minister and rapper Joey"Rev Run" of Run D.M.C. The recepetion was held on a 190-foot yacht.
